On the occasion of the fifth edition of the European data protection and privacy Day, CNIL unveils its iPhone application. This app is designed to educate young people and give them the right tools to control their image online.

As a follow up to its awareness raising actions amongst 10 years old, junior high school kids and teachers, CNIL unveils its iPhone application for young people on the European data protection Day.

Edited by Playbac, the application is aimed at children from 6 to 14 years old and offers three ways to discover rules on how to protect privacy on the Internet:

Quiz « Les Incollables » - a best-seller Q&A game for kids:

With 94% of recognition among mothers of children aged 2 to 13, Les Incollables Q&A are a reference to test one’s knowledge while having fun. The quiz offers:

 

  • 100 questions on the topic of security and privacy protection on the Internet
  • 2 levels: High (6-10 years old) and Very high (10-14 years old)
  • avatar choice and customization (photo)
  • 2 game modes: one or two players to have fun with friends or family, with questions tailored to one’s level. 
  • ranking accessible at all times

Advice:

This learning section uses illustrations and movies to give tips: how to rightly set your online profile, discover the traces you leave behind on the Internet, think before publishing any information about yourself or others ... All you need to know to protect your privacy on the Internet!

Dictionary:

A glossary of 50 key terms on new technologies and Internet: application, cyberbullying, personal data ... Each term can be emailed to a friend. To keep at your fingertips!
