At the CNIL plenary meeting of 14 October 2010, our Commission developed recommendations to limit the impact of these innovative devices on privacy and freedoms.

Draft US federal bill on privacy
23 July 2010For the first time in years, a draft federal bill on privacy should be discussed in the House of Representatives in September. It aims at ensuring better information is provided to users on the use of their personal data by commercial websites and the introduction of “opt-in” consent for the collection of the most sensitive data.

Council of Europe - Recommendation on profiling
20 November 2009The 19th meeting of the Bureau of the Consultative Committee (T-PD) of the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data (T-PD) was held in Strasburg from November 18 to November 20.
